Zotac Geforce 9300 Mini-itx - Motherboard Intel Celeron e1400 - CPU LG GGC-H20L Bluray/HD-DVD - Optical Drive G.Skill PC6400 DDR2 - Ram 4 Gig Apex MI-100 BK - Case Windows 7 RC - OS I am having issues with my LG GGC-H20L bluray/HD-dvd optical drive. The drive shows up as a TSSTCORP CD/DVDW TS-H653L in device manager and ANYDVD HD.
Also drive will not read blurays or HD-dvd in fact it can not even see them, when I put one it it will sit there thinking for a while and then spits it out. I have been speaking with LG support but they are chalking it up to incompatibility with Windows 7 or the motherboard. They gave me the following solutions to follow. update BIOS and sata controller drivers.

make sure the sata port is set to sata/ide/pata mode and not to AHCI or RAID. try uninstalling the drive through device manager then rebooting to reload the driver.

is a Microsoft fix here: I have followed all the recommendations and nothing has changed. And LG support isn’t offering anymore solutions. I have tried this drive on multiple computers and I am having the exact same issue it always shows up as a TSSTCORP CD/DVDW TS-H653L which from doing some research looks like it is a HP OEM drive or at least the firmware is. This is driving me crazy so I thought I would come to you guys for some help. Thank you, Kevin.
That’s what it is looking like to me. I have tried to contact the seller through pricegrabber and have not heard anything back as of yet. The drive does have the LG faceplate and also has a OEM sticker with the correct specifications and serial number on it. I researched them before I bought the drive and almost all the feedback was positive.

One thing I do need to note is they sold the drive as refurbished. I’m am trying to find the post where is had stated exactly what they said but I can not right now.
The basic gist of it was that the drive was brand-new and they had removed them from new computers. Which meant they had to sell them as refurbished.
